To France, I Go

Let's do this!

I am currently done with part one of the journey to France. And by that I mean I am sitting in the Detroit airport waiting to board a bigger plane to Paris CDG in a few hours. Layovers suck. Point. Blank. Period. But part of the fun in travel is literally the "travel" to get to your destination, right? (Optimism.) Tomorrow morning at about 2:15 AM USA time, and 8:15 AM Parisian time, I will be in Paris (!!!!!!) with Sarah for five whole days. This is my first time traveling abroad alone and as exciting as it is to feel so much responsibility...It's also nerve-wrecking as all get out. Current tally of how many times I've made sure I haven't lost my passport: 18. It's been 3 hours since I left ATL. :-) As of now we have nothing planned but an airbnb in the 18E Arrondissement and I can not wait to just get out and explore. This will be my first time back to France in over 7 years, and almost 10 years since we moved back from living in Monaco for 5. My french is rusty, but it's there, give me a few days and hopefully I won't be pronouncing words à la Americaine. On the 7th I'll fly down to Nice and meet up with Kaitlyn for a week of French Riviera (Nice, Monaco and Bordighera) travel before we start our official study abroad in Cannes (Cannes Lions Festival.)

I'll try to keep this blog updated periodically during the next two weeks, but don't worry you'll hear daily updates from me once my time in Cannes begins! SO EXCITED. Ok, off to France now! Au revoir!!

(Stay tuned on if I ever make it to the airbnb in Paris.)

XO,
Shan
